Jill Rose Brennan is a UK based artist and tutor. Her layered work is a sensitive and joyful celebration of colour. She uses paints, dyes, stitch and fabric.
Originally training in painting at Goldsmiths' College in London...and since then with textile City and Guilds courses, she now creates a variety of pieces of work - some are framed...some wallhangings and also quilts.
She has exhibited widely and won a variety of national awards for her work. She has also given talks, presentations and workshops.
Jill Rose taught in schools and colleges in London and Southampton but after enabling others to be creative, she now enjoys developing her own work in her studio.
Inspiration for this comes from three varied and wonderfully rich resources:
The city and landscape around her Hampshire home on the south coast.
The countryside and lifestyle in the Le Marche area of Italy where she spends time, following the hard work of renovation of a dilapidated farmhouse some years ago. The tractor shed has become a studio.
Wide and wild travels in a small but well-appointed camper van with a beloved husband and two well-loved dogs.
